Looking for a job that pays $25/hour that can work around your personal and work schedule? Become a NY Travel Baseball Umpire for Spring games in Prospect Park. Each game is two hours and pays $50. There’s plenty of work for everybody.
But first you must attend our Umpire School. THE SCHOOL IS FREE!!!!!
Classes are 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on the following Sundays : at the Holy Name School, 245 Prospect Park West:
JANUARY 5
JANUARY 12
JANUARY 26
FEBRUARY 2
FEBRUARY 9
FEBRUARY 23
MARCH 2
The entrance to the School is on the East side of the Parking Lot.
The classes cover baseball/softball rules, umpiring mechanics, and game management. In March there may be a few outdoor training sessions so we can refine your mechanics under live game conditions.
The umpiring assignments will be for the Prospect Park Baseball Association based out of Prospect Park in Park Slope, Brooklyn and other nearby neighborhood fields.
You will need to purchase umpire equipment. You can choose your own supplier or, if you prefer, our vendor offers a cost-efficient starter package. You must also purchase a pair of heather grey umpire pants which you may purchase from our vendor or elsewhere.
Either way, you will also need to purchase an umpire shirt and a hat from us (about $60).
